Next to the palace, between 1850 and 1890, the family chapel was built in Neo-Gothic style, based on the design of Austrian architect Baron Theophil von Hansen, of Danish origin. It includes an altar and a crypt, where the tombs of Prince Barbu Dimitrie Știrbei, Prince Barbu Alexandru Știrbei, and their relatives are located. From the original paintings created in 1890 by Gheorghe Tattarescu—who was related to the Știrbei family—only fragments remain, including the image of the Virgin Mary holding Jesus. The rest of the artwork and the inscription “This holy place, founded by Prince Barbu Știrbei and his wife Elisaveta, was completed by their son Alexandru Barbu Știrbei in the year 1890” have been lost.
